Is there anyone who is interested in beginning a petition to change the law regarding production of toys? The problem has been caused by foreign-made toys- stuff from China if I understand. It would make more sense if domestically-made toys, like the type provided to Toys for Tots, were exempt from this law. There are surely many woodworkers who would want to sign such a petition. Someone familiar with lobbying could probably network with other clubs and guilds to gather a significant list of signatures. Maybe organizations like Saturday Market would also be a source of support. If I were beginning such an endeavor, I would try to contact a congressperson to inquire what type of petition or lobby would have a chance of influencing this law- whether it be a quantity of signatures a target for phone calls, whatever. Your thoughts?
