    I'm a total fan of shellac.  Fast drying, you can finish a job in a single day.  And it has the warmth and beaufy of oil based varnish.

    Only problem is that is does dry fast.  So it's hard to do large projects.

    I'll stick with oil based varnish.  It provides a beautiful, durable sheen.
